Good afternoon, St. James family!

Our devotion today was written by Grace Hook, and is a wonderful reminder and testimony to the blessing of worshiping together and the anticipation we have waiting for it again.

Psalm 28:7

The Lord is my strength and my shield;
My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped.
My heart leaps for joy
And I will give thanks to him in song.

These last 8 weeks have been unsettling to say the least.  We have missed visiting with friends, enjoying dinners out, movies at the theater, having sports to enjoy (Braves baseball!), or other things that you can put on your own list as things you miss.

Our leisurely activities have been missed for sure, but they all are second fiddle to us being able to gather together in worship as we were accustomed to each Sunday.

Our church family can’t wait to be in our beautiful sanctuary again.  The wait is almost over!  There will be some modifications, but we will assemble to praise God for how good He is, and how He has been with us through days like we have never experienced.

As King David said, our hearts will leap for joy, and we will give thanks to Him in song!  The Lord loves united hearts singing His praises.  I smile when I think of how sweet it’s going to be, and how beautiful the songs we will sing to Him will sound!

I feel like there is going to be a wonderful, joyful noise that will draw us near to the Lord like we haven’t experienced in a long time.  Again…THE WAIT IS ALMOST OVER!  Let us be in prayer for a presence of the Holy Spirit to enter each heart and rise to the heavens in a powerful way when that day arrives.

Thank you, Lord for St. James and our wonderful staff who have worked so diligently to keep us connected and in Your word.
