Good morning! Today’s devotion comes from Jenny Major, our Children’s Minister at St. James.

Dear Friends,

As we begin to gather again for worship in the sanctuary, we will discontinue our weekday e-mail devotions. It has been our privilege to share with you—God’s Word, music, stories, and encouragement. Thanks to everyone who helped us stay connected to one another through these daily devotions.

For our final weekday devotion, we are sharing a video of sweet Lydia, age 3. According to her mom, Lydia has enjoyed singing and dancing with classic DVDs from Cedarmont Kids over these past several weeks.

When we gather in the sanctuary beginning this Sunday, June 21, we will not be offering nursery care or Children’s Church, so there will likely be young children in the service. What a joy it will be to hear the sweet voices of the little ones among us. Keep in mind they are still learning how to sit still and when to be quiet during Big Church. How will they know what that looks like if we don’t invite them in and show them.

Encourage our young families to come. Be patient with wiggly, giggly children. Offer grace. And remember, the little ones are watching you and learning what it means to be part of the family of God.

Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them!
For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children
