Dear St. James Family and Friends,
We are pleased to report we are gradually returning to some of the regular rhythms of church—gathering for worship, Bible study, and Wesley Small Groups for adults, youth, and children. The staff continues to explore new and creative ways for our church family to stay connected.

We are meeting in-person on Sunday mornings—at 9:30 am in the Fellowship Hall, and at 11:00 am in the Sanctuary. Masks are required at both services (disposable masks are available). In addition, there are hand sanitizer stations at the entrances to the building. The 11 o’clock service in the Sanctuary is being live-streamed via Facebook—click here to watch. (Please note: You do not need a Facebook account to access the service.) Whatever option you choose for worship, we hope you are blessed through prayer, the public reading of God’s Word, songs and singing, and the teaching of God’s Word from our pastor and other church leaders.

In addition to Sunday morning worship services, we are offering Wednesday Night Bible Study through November 18, 6:30-7:30 pm. This study on the Book of Acts meets in the Fellowship Hall where tables and chairs are appropriately distanced. A Zoom option is also available. For more information, e-mail info@sjumc.org.

In October, we kicked-off the Wesley Small Group ministry. The goal of Wesley Small Groups is fellowship around scripture. We believe community is best developed as people study God’s Word together and seek to apply the Gospel in their daily lives. Groups meet throughout the week with daytime and evening options. In His Word, God says, “my house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples” (Isaiah 56:7). The Sanctuary is open for prayer every Wednesday, 11 am – 1 pm. Come as you are, and stay as little or as long as you like.  We are simply offering a holy space for you to connect with God as you pray through needs in our church family, our community, the nation, and the world.

The church office is open Monday – Thursday, 9 am – 5 pm. If there is anything we can do for you, please call the office at 706-548-1680 or e-mail info@sjumc.org. For the most up-to-date information on Children’s Ministry, contact Jenny Major at jmajor@sjumc.org. For the latest in Youth Ministry, contact Rachel Dow-Williams at rachel@sjumc.org.

Be assured of our prayers for you as you navigate new work environments, school plans, and day-to-day routines. The Lord bless you and keep you.
