March 19, 2020
Hello, St. James family and friends.
We are praying for each of you and your families during this unprecedented time, and we are especially praying for our church body while we are not able to gather today. Gathering as the body of Christ is vital to our lives as Christians, and our souls need that togetherness. Since we are prevented right now from worshiping together for the health and safety of everyone, we are continually praying about and exploring creative ways we can all still receive the spiritual food we so desperately need.
We encourage you to keep updated with the latest developments of this pandemic, and take measures and steps to ensure your health. As the church of St. James, we likewise want to do our part in keeping you, our staff, and the rest of our community safe, healthy, and whole.
Please read below for information and updates, and also ways you can connect with the rest of St. James to worship. Check back frequently, as additional information may be added:
All Sunday services are canceled March 22 and 29. However, we will offer an entire worship service through our website which you can access on Sunday mornings. We hope you will join in with the rest of the congregation to receive spiritual blessings through prayers, the public reading of God’s word, songs and singing, and the hearing of God’s word from our Pastor. Emails will go out with brief instructions on how to access these services. We are still in the production stages of this worship service, so we covet your prayers.
We are providing daily devotions during the week so that we all can be encouraged through God’s word. If you are not currently on our email list, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and request to be added to our active attenders list.
All activities at the church have been canceled for the foreseeable future. This includes daytime and evening Bible studies, as well as committee meetings and other gatherings at the church.
The church office will be open, Monday-Thursday, 9AM-5PM, but with just the barebones number of staff. If you happen to call the church office and no one answers, please leave a message and someone will get back with you as soon as possible. If an urgent matter arises during the day and you are unable to reach anyone in the church office, please call our Congregational Care Hotline at (706) 395-5152.
If there is anything we can do for you or your families during this time—or at any time—please let us know. You can email our church office at email@example.com, or our Executive Minister, Glenn Cole, at firstname.lastname@example.org, and we will respond as soon as we are able.
